This booklet constitutes the completely refereed post-conference lawsuits of the Fourth foreign convention on entry Networks, AccessNets 2009, held in Hong Kong, China, in November 2009. The eleven revised complete papers awarded including eight invited papers have been rigorously reviewed and chosen. The papers current unique and basic study advances within the quarter of entry networks, similar to hybrid dynamic bandwidth and wavelength allocation set of rules, different purposes in EPON, unsolicited supply companies (UGS), cellular WiMAX community, FiWi networks, built-in PON-WiMAX networks, cognitive radio networks, effective and dynamic spectrum sharing, cross-layer routing technique for SCTP, and vectored DSL.

In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm, called SWIM (Swapping Min-Max). This algorithm assures deadlines and delay jitter constraints, optimizes the throughput, and also minimizes the number of bursts. We show that along with zero delay jitter, a number of bursts with SWIM are comparable with those of EDF. The paper is organized as follows: UGS allocation algorithm with assumptions of arrival traffic and parameters is described in Section 3. Then, the performance evaluation and examples are demonstrated in Section 4.

Of course, the constraints are that jth connection still needs more resources in this frame and that ith connection’s deadline will still be met. The system manager can set a minimum burst size parameter, MinBurstSize. The swapping procedure ensures that each burst is at least this size. In our examples, we use a MinBurstSize of 1. However, the procedure can be easily applied for any other values of this parameter. The main effect of this parameter is that the connections whose deadline is in the current frame must have MinBurstSize allocation or more.

With the assumption that the delayed traffic can be transmitted finally, qi,j − δi,j among qi,j is successfully transmitted. The average loss ratio li,j is (qi,j − δi,j )/qi,j . Average Delay of the qi,j Reported Traffic. We analyze four scenarios as follows. b traffic of queue j at ONU i, the average arrival – For the newly arrived qi,j − qi,j 1 2 time is (ti,j + ti,j )/2. If they are successfully transmitted in the current cycle, the average departure time is αi,j + Δi,j /2. The average delay of the newly arrived traffic is αi,j + Δi,j /2 − (t1i,j + t2i,j )/2.
